ATLANTICO OPENS 24-HOUR SELF-SERVICE SPACE IN KM 30 MARKET TO ACCELERATE FINANCIAL INCLUSION
The initiative is part of ATLANTICO's strategy to serve the low-income population with excellence and reinforces its commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
Luanda, August 15, 2024 - Banco Millennium Atlântico, S.A. (ATLANTICO) announces that it has today opened a 24-hour ATLANTICO self-service space at the KM 30 Market, the largest agricultural produce outlet in Angola, which is in the municipality of Viana, the most populous in Luanda province and the country. This new space, which is based on a sustainable model powered by solar panels, has been carefully planned to meet the financial needs of the local community.
The opening of this space is part of ATLANTICO's mission, as a systemic bank, and its strategy of serving with excellence a considerable section of the population that lives and works in rural and peripheral areas of the country, guaranteeing growing and easier access for the entire community to differentiated financial services and contributing to the banking system of the population and the formalization of the economy, in line with the objectives of the Executive and the Monetary Authority. In addition, it reinforces its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by contributing to Reducing Inequalities (SDG 10) and to Action Against Global Climate Change (SDG 13), two of the five goals recently selected by ATLANTICO for its Sustainability Strategy.
The ATLANTICO 24-hour branches offer a wide range of services, allowing customers to carry out banking operations autonomously, conveniently, and safely, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, and they can also count on the support of an employee during normal office hours. With modern, user-friendly terminals, customers can open accounts, issue multi-cash cards, make deposits, withdrawals, transfers, pay bills and check their balances.
According to Mauro Neves, the Bank's Executive Director, “The opening of this space in Mercado do 30 is part of the implementation of one of the central axes of ATLANTICO's strategy, which involves serving a significant demographic section of the population and represents an important step towards the financial inclusion of traders and the communities surrounding the market. Providing accessible and secure banking services where traditional banking is still in its infancy will help formalize their daily activities and better structure their businesses.”
This new 24-hour ATLANTICO self-service space in Mercado do 30 provides greater autonomy for users, reduces waiting times for banking transactions and has been designed to be accessible to all, with facilities adapted for people with disabilities.
With the opening of this space, ATLANTICO has reached a total of 363 ATMs and 107 deposit machines, and until the end of the year it will continue to strengthen its self-service equipment and its presence among this demographic group of the population: in markets and outlying areas, not only in the municipality of Viana and the province of Luanda, but also in other provinces of the country.
Greater capillarity
The inclusion of people who still don't have access to banking services is a constant priority for ATLANTICO. Ensuring access to financial services is fundamental to promoting social inclusion and reducing inequalities in the country, by gaining access to products and services that offer more comfort, security, and better opportunities to make a profit from their activities.
Sustainability
Committed to sustainability, ATLANTICO is proud to report that the new space will be powered by solar energy. This initiative reflects the Bank's commitment to environmentally responsible practices and reducing its carbon footprint. The use of solar energy not only demonstrates ATLANTICO's environmental responsibility, but also guarantees a sustainable and efficient operation of the services provided.
Safety and reliability
ATLANTICO has invested in technology to ensure that all transactions carried out in the 24-hour ATLANTICO space are safe and reliable. The terminals are equipped with advanced security systems, ensuring that customer information is protected against fraud and unauthorized access.
Commitment to the Community
The opening of this 24-hour ATLANTICO space reflects the Bank's commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of the communities in which it operates. ATLANTICO believes that easy and secure access to financial services is fundamental to promoting economic and social prosperity.
