TOGETHER FOR EQUALITY – ATLANTICO JOINS THE UN WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT PRINCIPLES

has officially joined the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), a global initiative developed by UN Women in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact.

This adherence marks a significant step in ATLANTICO’s commitment to promoting gender equity and empowering women in the Angolan financial sector. With this commitment, ATLANTICO becomes the first Angolan bank to formally adopt the seven guiding principles aimed at strengthening female leadership, ensuring equal opportunities in the workplace, and fostering inclusive and sustainable business practices.

We believe that advancing gender equality contributes to a more balanced and resilient society. Joining the WEPs reinforces ongoing initiatives at the bank that support diversity, inclusion, and social transformation, consolidating its position as a financial institution aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 – Gender Equality and SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities.

The Women’s Empowerment Principles provide a practical roadmap for companies to develop policies and actions that promote equitable workplaces, respect women’s rights, and expand their participation at all levels of society and the economy. ATLANTICO invites its partners, clients, and stakeholders to join this transformative commitment, in the belief that empowering women strengthens entire communities and creates lasting value for everyone.
