ATLANTICO AND FUNDO DE GARANTIA SIGN PROTOCOL
Agreement provides greater comfort in the analysis of credit applications that arrive at the Bank
Luanda, January 16, 2024 - Banco Millennium Atlântico (ATLANTICO) and the Fundo de Garantia de Crédito (FGC) today signed an agreement to grant partial credit guarantees under the Sustainable Projects Support Line (LAPS), designed by the FGC, which aims to promote and facilitate access to credit for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Cooperatives and Individual Entrepreneurs for the creation and promotion of Businesses.
This line aims to cover the lack of real guarantees that MSMEs, Cooperatives and Individual Entrepreneurs present when applying for credit.
To this end, the FGC will provide ATLANTICO with guarantees covering up to 80% of the financed capital, for loans of up to Kz 200,000,000 (two hundred million kwanzas), with the limit value of the guarantee being defined in national currency, without indexation to foreign currency, in view of the exchange risks that may occur at the time the Guarantee is requested.
On ATLANTICO's side, the document was signed by Éder Sousa, Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee and Isabel Espírito Santo, Executive Director, and on FGC's side by Luzayadio Simba, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Eduardo Katalahary Mohamed, Business Area Director.
For Éder Sousa, CFO of ATLANTICO, "The signing of this agreement reflects ATLANTICO's historic commitment to supporting the real economy, companies and the process of diversifying our economy. We aim to continue to be the preferred choice for entrepreneurs and, to this end, we are committed to offering competitive financing options, such as the agreement we have just signed."
ATLANTICO is committed to implementing a sustainability strategy, such as its recent membership of the UN Global Compact, and sees this agreement as yet another mechanism that will contribute to achieving that goal, by promoting financial inclusion, gender equality and business solutions involving local communities and environments.
he Bank has a history of strong support for the real economy, being one of the leading banks in granting credit under Executive programs, which has materialized in long-term relationships with the Credit Guarantee Fund itself.
